Cam Newton,QB, Auburn

Buzz: Putting aside distractions off the field, Newton continued his strong season on the field by accounting for five touchdowns on 341 total yards while sitting late in Auburn's 62-24 victory Saturday over Chattanooga. Up next: vs. Georgia, Saturday.

LaMichael James, RB, Oregon

Buzz: A slow start didn't hamper James against Washington. The sophomore tallied 121 yards on 26 carries, and the nation's leading rusher had three touchdowns for the second straight week. Up next: at California, Saturday.

Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State

Buzz: Like the temperature in Idaho, records are falling for Moore. His 507 yards Saturday were third most in school history, and Boise State's 42-7 victory over Hawaii was its 22nd consecutive win, a school record.

Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

Buzz: Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh compared Luck's performance Saturday to that of Colts QB Peyton Manning. The junior completed 71 percent of his 32 attempts for 293 yards and two TDs in a rout of Arizona.

Andy Dalton, QB, TCU

Buzz: In the biggest game of the year, Dalton had one of his best games. The senior had 355 yards and three TDs in a 47-7 victory over Utah. He has thrown one interception in his last six games.

Denard Robinson, QB, Michigan

Buzz: For the fourth straight game, Robinson was forced to watch a lot of the action from the bench. However, before his early exit, the sophomore tossed three TDs and threw for 305 yards in Michigan's 67-65 triple-OT victory over Illinois. Up next:

Justin Blackmon, WR, Okla. State

Buzz: Looking to become only the third receiver to win the award, Blackmon leads the nation in total receiving yards (1,285) and receiving yards per game (160.63). He's scored at least one TD in every game he's played this season. Up next:
