Series: Norfolk State leads 12-10.
What's at stake: It's the 23rd meeting between the Bears and Spartans in a series that dates to 1965. Norfolk State is coming off a 10-9 victory over Howard last week and has won the past three games against Morgan. The Bears fell, 31-17, to Florida A&M on Saturday, ending a two-game winning streak.
Key matchup: Spartans senior RB DeAngelo Branche is the second-leading rusher in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, having run for 776 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Branche averages 97 yards per game and 4.4 yards per carry. Branche will look to elude sophomore LB Allen Stephens, who leads Morgan with 60 tackles, including 11.5 for a loss.
Players to watch: Bears QB Delonte Williams has thrown for 427 yards and four touchdowns in parts of five games. The freshman was sacked four times and threw an interception in last week's loss. Morgan junior S Reshaude Miller is among the league leaders with four interceptions this season. Spartans WR Victor Hairston has recorded 433 receiving yards this season with two touchdown catches. Junior LB Corwin Hammond has seen action in every Norfolk State game since 2008 and leads the team in tackles (52), sacks (3.5) and forced fumbles (two).
