NAVY (4-2) VS. NOTRE DAME (4-3)
Time: 1 p.m.
Site: New Meadowlands Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.
TV: Chs. 13, 9
Radio: 1090 AM, 1430 AM
Last meeting: Navy def. Notre Dame, 23-21, on Nov. 7 in South Bend, Ind.
Red-zone revival: Navy is 8-for-8, all touchdowns, in its past two games inside the 20-yard line. That's a sharp turnaround. Before a 28-27 victory over Wake Forest two weeks ago, the Midshipmen were 7-for-19 in scoring touchdowns in that area. They'll look to extend the recent touchdown streak against Notre Dame's 67th-ranked red-zone defense.
BCS buster: The Midshipmen have won 17 games against BCS opponents, including two against Notre Dame, since 2003. That's tied with Utah for the most by a non-BCS school over that span. Notre Dame is the third automatic qualifier Navy will have played this season. It lost to Maryland in the season opener, 17-14, at M&T; Bank Stadium and beat the Demon Deacons on Oct. 9 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dobbs watch: The senior needs three rushing touchdowns to tie Chris McCoy for the school career record and move into a tie for 10th in NCAA history for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. Dobbs needs four touchdowns to tie McCoy for the all-time Navy record in overall touchdowns (rushing and receiving). This season, Dobbs leads Navy with 379 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and in passing with 657 yards and four TDs.
