What's at stake: The Bears and Aggies meet for the 76th time in a series that dates back to 1930. Morgan has won the last four contests and have not lost to the Aggies since 2003. The Bears are coming off 69-32 drubbing by Bethune-Cookman last week. N.C. A&T; lost to Tennessee State 37-7 last Saturday in the Circle City Classic played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Aggies have not won a game since defeating Howard on Oct. 24, 2009 and enter Saturday's game ranked last in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in total defense, yielding an average of 381.2 yards per game.
Key matchup: Aggies junior Mike Mayhew is one of the top running backs in the MEAC, rushing for 501 yards on 103 carries with four touchdowns this season. Mayhew averages 100.2 rushing yards per game and his 518 all-purpose yards are good for fifth place in the MEAC. Sophomore linebacker Allen Stephens leads the Bears with 43 tackles, including 23 solo stops and six for a loss. Morgan's defense has allowed 13 rushing touchdowns through five games this season and enters Saturday's game ranked sixth in rushing defense, yielding an average of 161.8 yards per game.
Players to watch: Freshman wide receiver Chuka Okakpu leads the Bears with 159 yards on 15 receptions and ranks fifth in the MEAC with an average of three receptions per game. Sophomore kicker Kemar Scarlett has accounted for 36 of Morgan's 78 total points this season. Aggies junior defensive back Justin Ferrell is tied with Morgan's Stephens for the conference lead in tackles with 43. Ferrell is also the top kickoff return man in the MEAC, averaging 39.3 yards per return with two touchdowns this season.
