Navy QB Dobbs named to O'Brien Award watch list

Navy senior quarterback Ricky Dobbs is one of 30 players named to the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award watch list. The winner of the award, which is presented annually to the nation's best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback honor, will be announced Dec. 9

Namoff puts career on hiatus, joins D.C. United front office

D.C. United defender Bryan Namoff has suspended his playing career and will join the team's technical staff as special projects manager. A 10-year veteran of the team, Namoff moves into a new role with United, assisting general manager Dave Kasper with scouting, youth development and camp programming. He will also assist the front office in other business development opportunities.

Crystal Palace Baltimore: The team signed former Frostburg State goalkeeper Jay Herford.

Gordon, Beagle among five players who sign contracts

The Washington Capitals signed right wing Andrew Gordon, center Andrew Joudrey and defensemen Patrick McNeill and Zach Miskovic to one-year contracts, and center Jay Beagle to a two-year contract. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
