Blunt force ruled cause of U.Va. lacrosse player's death

The state medical examiner's office says a University of Virginia women's lacrosse player was killed by blunt force injury to her head.

Yeardley Love's death also has been officially ruled a homicide, according to Steve Murman, central region administrator for the office.

The 22-year-old Cockeysville native was found dead in her bedroom in early May. Police have charged George Huguely of Chevy Chase, a men's lacrosse player at the university, with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.

Huguely told police he kicked in Love's bedroom door, shook her and her head hit a wall several times. His attorney called Love's death an accident.
