Zion Williamson somehow explodes Nike shoe as mild knee sprain forces him to miss rest of Duke-UNC game

Zion Williamson highlight reel is filled with dunks, blocks and now, to Nike’s dismay, exploding shoes.

Deep breath, Knicks fans.

The Duke phenom and future lottery pick fell into an awkward split and destroyed his shoe only 33 seconds into the No. 1 Blue Devils’ highly-anticipated clash with No. 8 North Carolina on Wednesday night. Williamson quickly grabbed his right knee, before limping into the locker room.

Williamson was ruled out the rest of the game, Duke announced minutes later, and UNC took down Duke, 88-72. Williamson suffered a mild knee sprain on the play, coach Mike Krzyzewski told reporters after the game.

The freakish athlete is averaging 22.4 points, 2.3 assists, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game this season.
