Deshaun Morman tied a career high with 18 points, but Towson lost, 81-72, to host Nevada in a men's basketball game at the South Point Holiday Classic on Wednesday.
The Wolf Pack improved to 10-2, led by Marcus Marshall and Cameron Oliver with 17 points each. The loss ended the Tigers' three-game winning streak. Morman also added five rebounds for the third time this season and three steals. Morman is tied for second in the Colonial Athletic Association in steals per game.
Towson (7-5) got 16 points from Mike Morsell, who reached double digits in scoring for the 11th time this season and 44th time in his career.
UMES faces Akron, an 88-80 winner over Cal Irvine, in today's championship.
UMBC 57, Long Island-Brooklyn 45: The Retrievers (3-7) rallied in the second half to beat the host Blackbirds (1-10).
UMBC outscored LIU-Brooklyn 22-15 in the third and fourth quarters.
Tyler Moore had 19 points for the Retrievers, who trailed by two points to start the second half.
No. 13 West Virginia 77, Mount St. Mary's 45: Caroline Hummell scored a team-high 13 points, but the visiting Mount St. Mary's (2-9) fell to West Virginia (12-0).
Virginia 60, UMES 50: J'Kyra Brown had 14 points to lead the host Cavaliers (9-2) past the Hawks (6-3).
The loss ended a three-game winning streak by UMES. Moengaroa Subritzky had a game-high 20 points for the Hawks.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 53, Morgan State 44: The Lions (3-7) finished on a 20-10 run and beat the Bears (2-9) at the Puerto Rico Classic.
