Coastal Carolina used a 14-4 run late in the second half to overcome a Loyola Maryland lead, and the Chanticleers ended the Greyhounds season with a 72-63 victory Monday night in the College Basketball Invitational quarterfinals in Conway, S.C. Andre Walker hit his third 3-pointer of the second half with 8:37 left in regulation, giving the Greyhounds a 54-50 lead, and a basket by Jarred Jones (John Carroll) and free throw 33 seconds later stretched the Greyhounds' lead to seven, but Coastal Carolina (18-17) used strong defense to limit Loyola's looks down the stretch. Chuck Champion scored a season-high 18 points for the Greyhounds, making four 3-pointers along with Walker. Walker scored 12, and Chancellor Barnard added 10. Cam Gregory and Jones each had eight points and nine rebounds. The Greyhounds (16-17) scored the game's first nine points and went up 18-2. A 3 by Walker with 12:00 to play in the first half pushed the advantage to 16, the largest of the game for either team. Coastal Carolina, however, cut its deficit to 31-29 at halftime, and the Chanticleers scored the first five points of the second half.
