Johns Hopkins advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament with a 52-39 win over La Roche on Friday. The Blue Jays host MIT in the second Round tonight at 8. Kyle Doran led the Blue Jays with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Michael Gardner added 10 points and eight rebounds. The eight rebounds for Gardner were just one shy of his career high.... Towson sophomore guard Zane Martin was named second team All-Colonial Athletic Association. ... Coppin State 's Lamar Morgan was named third team All- MEAC . ... Omari George (City) scored a game-high 27 points to lead Bowie State (14-14) to a 80-77 victory over Livingstone (12-13) in a CIAA quarterfinal at Charlotte, N.C. Thursday.

Women: Loyola Maryland sophomore Stephanie Karcz was voted the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Isabella Therien was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, becoming the first Greyhounds women's players to earn major year-end awards from the Patriot League. Karcz also was named the first team and earned her second-straight defensive team award, while Therien was named to the rookie team. ... Coppin State's Genesis Lucas (first team) and Chance Graham (second team) were both named to the MEAC All-Conference Team. ... Kiara Colston scored the go-ahead basket and Kyah Proctor added a free throw as Bowie State (20-8) won 53-49 over Virginia State (23-5) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association semifinal in Charlotte, N.C. Colston made a 3-pointer to break a 49-49 tie with 33 seconds left and Proctor went 1-for-2 from the line with two seconds left for the final score. Bowie State faces Virginia Union in the title game today at 1 p.m.

Men's lacrosse: Due to the Nor'easter affecting travel in the region, the ninth-ranked Loyola Maryland men's game today at Holy Cross has been rescheduled for Sunday at noon. ... John Wagner scored with 1:18 left in overtime as No. 19 Marquette (3-0) won an 8-7 upset over No. 6 Ohio State (4-1) in the Midwest Classic in Pontiac, Mich. The Golden Eagles led 7-5 before the Buckeyes scored twice in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Women's lacrosse: No. 2 Boston College (7-0) opened with an 11-0 run and cruised 14-2 past visiting Binghamton (3-2). Goalie Lauren Daly made six saves for Boston College. ... Friday's game between No. 5 James Madison (4-0) and host Temple (3-2) has been postponed because of weather conditions. The game will be played today at 11 a.m. ... Freshman Charlotte North had her fourth hat trick, but No. 15 Duke (3-2) lost 15-5 to visiting Stanford (2-2). Ali Baiocco had a game-high five goals for the Cardinal, which took a 10-2 lead in the first half.
