Jarred Jones (John Carroll) scored 18 points to lead visiting Loyola Maryland (3-10, 2-0 Patriot League) past Lafayette (3-10, 2-0), 81-78.
Andrew Walker had a game-high 21 points for Lafayette.
Mount St. Mary's 79, LIU-Brooklyn 63: BK Ashe scored 16 points and Gregory Graves had 14 to lead a balanced attack as the host Mountaineers (4-10) beat the Blackbirds (6-6) in a Northeast Conference opener.
New Jersey Institute of Technology 86, UMBC 83: Jairus Lyles (30 points) made a pair of 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds to bring the visiting Retrievers (4-11) within 85-83, but the Highlanders (9-6) held on to win.
