State college basketball roundup: Free throws lift Navy men in Spartan Showcase

Senior guard Tilman Dunbar hit four free throws in the final 14 seconds to send Navy to a 70-66 men's basketball victory over host UNC-Greensboro in the Spartan Showcase on Friday in Greensboro, N.C.
It was the fourth straight win for the Mids (4-2), who will play two more games in the tournament this weekend — against Jacksonville today at 4:30 p.m. and against Indian Purdue-Forth Worth on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Dunbar finished with 16 points and four rebounds to pace the Mids, while Will Kelly and Shawn Anderson each scored 14 points. Kendall Knorr added seven points and James Hemphill had six points and five rebounds.
Furman 69, Mount St. Mary's 60: The Paladins knocked down 10 straight free throws, including four in a row by Stephen Croone, and Furman held off the Mount in the mainland portion of the Battle 4 Atlantis at Elon on Friday night.
The Paladins lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christie, 73-69, while the Mountaineers lost to host Elon, 79-74, on Thursday.
Chris Wray pulled Mount St. Mary's even at 56 by converting the first of two free throws with 3:50 left to play. John Davis III started the closing run by hitting both free throws with 3:23 left and Croone hit his four straight to make it 62-56 with under a minute left.
Croone had 17 points and Matt Rafferty pulled down 13 rebounds to lead Furman (3-3).
Gregory Graves and BK Ashe each had 11 points to lead the Mountaineers (0-6). Junior Robinson and Taylor Danaher each added 10 points.
UMES 70, St. Francis (Pa.) 57: Dominique Elliott scored 21 points and the host Hawks won their first game of the season.
Elliott was 9-for-12 from the field with two 3-pointers and eight rebounds. Devin Martin had 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting for UMES (1-4).
Isaiah Blackmon made three of four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points to lead St. Francis (2-3). Ronnie Drinnon added 15 points with 13 rebounds.
Navy 59, Siena 58, OT: Justice Swett made a free throw with 44 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and another with 39 seconds left in overtime to put the host Mids (4-1) ahead for good at the Navy Classic.
Navy outscored the Saints (0-5) 12-11 in overtime. Swett finished with 9 points.
Colorado State 54, Morgan State 36: The Rams (4-1) used a 20-5 run in the fourth quarter to outdistance the Bears (4-1) at the Navy Classic.
