Highlights of the 2007-08 Maryland men's basketball schedule, which was released today, include early games against Illinois and Virginia Commonwealth University, along with a trip to Charlotte, N.C., to face former Maryland assistant Rob Moxley, who returned to his post as an assistant with the 49ers.

The Terps open the regular-season schedule at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 against North Florida in the O'Reilly Auto Parts College Basketball Experience at Comcast Center. Tulsa and Hampton play in the first game.

The winner of the College Park Regional will advance to Kansas City on Nov. 19 and 20 for the championship rounds of the tournament. Michigan State and UCLA, each of which were in the postseason last year, join Missouri as regional hosts of the 16-team tournament.

Maryland plays host to Illinois on Nov. 28 in the Big 10/ACC Challenge, one year after the Terps defeated the Illini in Champaign. Maryland then will face VCU -- which advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament last year before losing to third-seeded Pittsburgh -- at Verizon Center on Dec. 2 in the annual BB&T Classic. The Terrapins open their ACC schedule at home on Dec. 9 against Boston College.

In its 16-game ACC schedule, Maryland has home-and-home matchups with Boston College, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. In conference games at home, the Terps also will play Clemson, Florida State and N.C. State. Maryland will play its only regular-season league meetings against Georgia Tech, Miami and North Carolina on the road.
