2/28/1964 - Defeats Bridgewater (Va.) for 200th victory.

2/22/1969 - Beats local rival Loyola for his 300th career win.

1/28/1976 - Tops George Mason for his 400th career victory.

1/11/1982 - Defeats St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) for 500th victory.

2/17/1986 - Notches 600th win against Pittsburgh-Johnstown.

1988 - Mount St. Mary's moves to Division I.

1/10/1991 - Phelan coaches 1,000 career game.

2/28/1993 - Clinches 700th victory against Wagner.

3/5/1995 - Beats Rider for the Northeast Conference Championship.

3/16/1996 - Plays Illinois State in its first NIT appearance.

1998 - Presented the Clair Bee Coach of the Year award by the Basketball Hall of Fame.

3/1/1999 - Mount beats Central Connecticut State for Phelan's 800th win and the NEC championship.

11/25/2000 - Coaches his 1,276th career game against Columbia to rank first among all coaches in games coached.

2/24/2001 - Coaches 1,300th game against Monmouth becoming the only coach to lead that many games.

1/16/2003 - Phelan announces his retirement from coaching, effective the end of the season.
