Maryland women's basketball picked to win Big Ten title

The Maryland's women's basketball team enters its first Big Ten season as the favorite to win the conference.
The Terps were voted as the preseason No. 1 by the league's head coaches and meda, the Big Ten announced at its basketball media day Thursday.
Maryland's women finished 28-7 last year and reached the Final Four for the second time under coach Brenda Frese.
Maryland sophomore guard Lexie Brown was voted onto the preseason All-Big Ten team, which was also announced Thursday. She averaged 10.1 points per game and 4.2 assists as a freshman.
Brown was one of six players selected to the preseason team, along with Samantha Logic (Iowa), Rachel Banham (Minnesota), Amanda Zahui B. (Minnesota), Rachel Theriot (Nebraska) and Ameryst Alston (Ohio State).
Banham was voted the league's preseason Player of the Year by the coaches and media.
Michigan State was picked to finish second in the league by both the coaches and media.
