Maryland's football team is a 3.5-point favorite heading into Saturday's home game against Iowa, according to VegasInsider.com.
The Hawkeyes are 5-1, including 2-0 in the Big Ten. However, Iowa has had problems at quarterback, is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry as a team and has had issues at different points stopping both the run and the pass on defense.
Northern Iowa quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen threw for 380 yards and two touchdowns against the Hawkeyes. Iowa State quarterback Sam B. Richardson was 25 of 36 for 255 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Pittsburgh running back James Conner ran for 155 yards and a touchdown while averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and Indiana ran for 316 and three touchdowns against Iowa last week while averaging 8.1 yards per carry.
The Hawkeyes did beat Indiana, 45-29, but they lost to an Iowa State team that is 2-4. They also barely beat an FCS team, Northern Iowa, 31-23.
Maryland had a bye last week after losing to Ohio State, 52-24, on Oct. 4.
