Olson helps Loyola beat St. Peter's, 66-55, for sixth straight win

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Robert Olson scored 19 points and Loyola defeated Saint Peter's 66-55 Sunday, for its sixth straight win.

The Greyhounds' defense continued to lead the way, forcing 19 turnovers, which led to 21 points. It marked the sixth straight game that Loyola (18-5, 11-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) has held an opponent to fewer than 60 points, the longest such streak since joining Division I in 1981-82.

The Peacocks (5-19, 4-9) shot 38 percent from the field (19 of 50) and were held to seven assists.

The Greyhounds scored five straight to end the first half up 32-23. After trading baskets with Saint Peter's at the start of the second, Loyola scored six straight to take its biggest lead, 42-27, with 16:28 to play.

Erik Etherly added 15 points and Shane Walker 14 for the Greyhounds.

Saint Peter's was led by Darius Conley's 20 points and 14 rebounds.
