Cormier leads Loyola to 66-60 win over New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. — Dylon Cormier scored 16 points and Shane Walker had 15 points and eight rebounds as Loyola (Md.) defeated New Hampshire 66-60 in a nonconference game Sunday.

Justin Drummond added 13 points for the Greyhounds (3-1), including a pair of free throws that put them ahead to stay, 51-49, with 11:41 remaining.

A dunk by Erik Etherly, who finished with 11 points, made it 53-49, and the Greyhounds increased their lead to as many as seven points, 60-53, on a basket by Cormier with 6 minutes left. The Wildcats (1-2) never got closer than four points after that.

Chandler Rhoads scored 14 points to lead New Hampshire, including 10 in the first half when the Wildcats took a 35-31 lead.

Patrick Konan added 12 points for New Hampshire and Alvin Abreu had 11, which moved him into 10th place on the school career scoring list with 1,236 points.
