JOHNS HOPKINS FOOTBALL: Greg Chimera was appointed the Blue Jays' interim head football coach on Wednesday. The announcement comes one week after the sudden passing of Jim Margraff, who had served as the Johns Hopkins football coach for 29 seasons. A national search to permanently fill the position will begin immediately.

Chimera, a 2009 Johns Hopkins graduate and a four-year member of the Blue Jay football team, recently completed his 10th season as a member of Margraff's staff, including his fifth as the offensive coordinator. Since joining the staff in 2009, Chimera has helped guide Johns Hopkins to 10 consecutive Centennial Conference titles, nine trips to the NCAA Playoffs and a record of 102-17 (.857).

Johns Hopkins has averaged at least 37 points per game in each of Chimera's five seasons as the offensive coordinator and more than 500 yards in each of the last four.
