College basketball roundup: Loyola defeats Fairfield, 81-66

Jarred Jones (John Carroll) scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, James Fives hit three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, and the host Greyhounds (2-3) beat the Stags (3-1).

Nevell Provo added 10 points for Loyola, which ended a two-game losing streak after trailing by as many as 12 points.


Colorado State 76, UMES 65: Che Bob had 10 points and 14 rebounds and Emmanuel Omogbo had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the host Rams (3-1) over the Hawks (0-5).

Bakari Copeland and Logan McIntosh had 15 points apiece for UMES, which went 4-for-18 from behind the arc and shot 43 percent (26-for-61).

Brown 81, Morgan State 75: Tavon Blackmon and Joshua Howard scored 20 points apiece and host Brown (2-4) rallied from a 12-point deficit in the second half to beat Morgan State (2-3).

Brown trailed by 12 with 12 minutes remaining after a 10-0 run by Morgan State. Brown immediately responded with its 10-0 run and took the lead for good in the final two minutes.

UT Arlington 80, Mount St. Mary’s 71: Sophomore Elijah Long (John Carroll) scored a career-high 27 points and freshman Miles Wilson (Mount Saint Joseph) had a career-high 26, but the visiting Mount (1-5) fell to the Mavericks (3-3).


Saint Louis 71, Morgan State 43: The host Billikens (5-0) tied a school record of 60 percent shooting from the field to beat the Bears (1-2).

Saint Louis used a 13-0 run to build a 16-point cushion late in the first quarter.

Zuri White led Morgan State with 10 points.
