Brian Urlacher, Dick Butkus set for Bears' draft party

Brian Urlacher and Dick Butkus will appear at an NFL draft party hosted by the Bears on April 30 and May 1.

It appears all is well between the Bears and former star linebacker Brian Urlacher, who was vocal in his displeasure with team management during the tenure of former general manager Phil Emery.

Urlacher and Dick Butkus, another former star linebacker for the Bears, are scheduled to appear at an NFL draft party hosted by the team April 30 and May 1.

The Bears announced plans Tuesday for a fan gathering to coincide with the first two days of the draft, which this year will be conducted at the Auditorium Theatre at Roosevelt University in Chicago. The Chicago Bears Miller Lite Draft Headquarters will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. both evenings at the Plaza at Park Grill, located near the draft site on Michigan Avenue.

Asked recently where he stood with the new regime of coach John Fox and general manager Ryan Pace, Urlacher said, "I'm not sitting around waiting for a phone call. It's not a big deal to me.

"I was never not a part of the Bears. I just didn't like going in (Halas Hall), that's all."

Urlacher and Butkus are slated to appear on April 30, the evening of the first  round of the draft. The Bears also hope to have their first-round draft pick appear at the gathering, should he be in town.

Tickets for the fan gathering are $45 and will go on sale at 11 a.m. March 12 at
