Terps' Taylor Cummings nominated for an ESPY

Just when you thought there were no more awards for Taylor Cummings to be considered for, the Maryland lacrosse star was nominated for an ESPY on Tuesday.

The McDonogh graduate is nominated for the Best Female College Athlete along with Breanna Stewart, Connecticut, basketball; Hannah Rogers, Florida, softball; Micha Hancock, Penn State, volleyball; and Morgan Brian, Virginia, soccer.

Voting for the ESPYs continues here until July 16 at 9 p.m. That's when the awards will be presented on ESPN at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Cummings became the first sophomore ever to win the women's Tewaaraton Award after leading the No. 1 Terps to the NCAA championship last month. She was the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA tournament. She also won the Honda Award (given to the best athlete in the sport) and was the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Midfielder of the Year.

As the Honda Award winner, Cummings is also a nominee for the Honda Cup, which will be awarded June 30 at 8 p.m. on the CBS College Sports Network. That ceremony is also in Los Angeles, at Southern California's Galen Center. It will air on CBS Sports Network.
