Orioles' July 4 'Stars & Stripes' hat revealed

Have you ever looked at your Orioles hat collection and wished you could find a gaudy red number to add to it? Major League Baseball has you covered.

This year’s "Stars & Stripes" hat, presumably to be worn in Boston when the Orioles take on the Red Sox at 1:35 p.m. on the Fourth of July, is an improvement on last year’s gray number. Check out the link to the MLB shop here.

The red hat, which features a navy blue brim, and a blue-and-white Oriole bird inside a star-shaped flag, at least shows fans who are going to shell out $37.99 that they’re getting a hat distinguishable from the original lid.

Gaudy as it may be, it’s actually not a terrible look.

Major League Baseball tweeted yesterday that 100 percent of the net proceeds for the hats will go to Welcome Back Veterans, which aids returning servicemen and women.
