All-Metro softball Coach of the Year

Meyers and his team not only did not back down from their goal of winning the program's first state title, he also put together one of the most challenging schedules in the area.

The Mavericks responded each game, finishing the season 25-0 and winning the Class 2A state championship. Eastern Tech became the first Baltimore County school since Overlea in 1981 to win a state championship.

Meyers has been building up the program for several years. The Mavericks have won four out of five regional titles and four straight county championships.

This year's team was dominant. Eastern Tech had 20 of their 25 games decided by the fifth inning and broke program records for highest batting average (.530), runs scored (366), RBIs (344), home runs (19), doubles (58), triples (40) and on-base percentage (.607).

Meyers is 101-11 in five seasons with the Mavericks.
