Maryland landed four players on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team -- more than any other team in the conference -- and one on the second team.
Taylor Cummings, Megan Douty, Beth Glaros and Kelly McPartland earned first-team honors, and Brooke Griffin was second-team as the No. 1 Terps prepare to open ACC tournament play Thursday against Virginia Tech at Boston College. The Terps are going after their sixth straight ACC championship before departing for the Big Ten.
Cummings, the ACC Freshman of the Year last season, makes her second appearance on the first team. A two-time All-Metro Player of the Year at McDonogh, the midfielder leads Maryland in goals with 44 and is second with 65 points.
Glaros, a Wilde Lake graduate, is having her best season as a senior with 37 goals. A midfielder, she is second on the team in draw controls with 46.
Douty, a junior, has been key to a defense that has allowed just 7.94 goals per game. She has 14 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls.
McPartland, a versatile midfielder, has played key roles on both ends of the fiel with a team-high 69 points, including 44 goals.
Griffin, a former All-Metro Player of the Year at South River, has 44 goals and 14 assists as the Terps playmaker. The junior attacker was All-ACC last season as well.
