Baltimore City Division 1 boys basketball championship preview

When: Saturday, 8:30 p.m.

Where: Morgan State

Outlook: The Knights' 85-63 win over Dunbar on Thursday completed a perfect regular season, which included a tough, 65-55, win at Lake Clifton on Jan. 8.

The game was tied at 47 midway through the fourth quarter when City's seniors took over. Timmy Bond scored a game-high 21 points, Kamau Stokes scored 14 and Omari George finished with 13 points.

The talented trio carried the Knights all season, but they also have received strong inside play from brothers John and Juwant Grant, creating difficult matchups all over the court for opponents.

The Lakers rely on senior guards Stephon Brown and Elijah Kess, and scrappy team play at both ends. To get past City, they will need to rebound and defend well against the bigger Knights and also get some points in transtion.
