Snow moves Anne Arundel County basketball championships, others unchanged

The big snow has forced Anne Arundel County officials to move their basketball championships to next Friday, Feb. 21 instead of Wednesday, because some postponed games have backed up into the middle of next week.

The Anne Arundel championships were scheduled earlier than any other local jusrisdiction, so everyone else has more time to reschedule regular-season contests.

Title games in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and the Harford-Cecil Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference remain unchanged. Carroll and Howard do not have county championship games, with the regular-season winners taking those titles.

Sectional quarterfinals are scheduled to start Feb. 28, with the state tournaments beginning on March 12 at Towson's SECU Arena for the girls and March 13 at Comcast Center for the boys.
