McDonogh boys win top MIAA A soccer berth

Tunde Akinlosotu and Conner Smith each had a hat trick as No. 1 McDonogh claimed the top spot in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference boys soccer tournament by beating No. 11 John Carroll, 7-0, Wednesday.

The host Eagles (19-0-1, 15-0-1) posted their 14th shutout of the season.

Mount St. Joseph 2, No. 2 St. Paul's 1, OT: Brett DeBoy scored with three minutes left in overtime as the host Gaels (7-11-1, 5-10-1 MIAAA Conference) upset the Crusaders (13-3-1, 12-3-1).

Calvert Hall 2, No. 6 Gilman 1: Jeff Schaefer scored the game-winner from inside 18 yards with 18 minutes left for the visiting Cardinals (7-12-2, 4-9-2 IAAM A Conference).

No. 8 Archbishop Curley 2, No. 10 Loyola 2, 2OT: Ryan Conrad scored twice, including the tying goal for the visiting Dons (9-8-3, 6-7-3 MIAA A Conference).

No. 1 C. Milton Wright 2, Towson 0: Madie Adams had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Mustangs (15-1) past the Generals (9-7) in the Class 3A North regional final.

No. 5 Archbishop Spalding 1, Bryn Mawr 0: Kat Turner scored at the 20-minute mark of the first half as the host Cavaliers (21-1) reached the IAAM A Conference final.
