Roundup: No. 3 River Hill girls soccer beats Long Reach

Jennifer Voyton broke a 2-all tie in the 55th minute for the No. 3 River Hill girls soccer team, which earned a 3-2 win against host Long Reach (2-3) on Thursday.

Voyton scored the game-winner for the Hawks (6-1) from 10 yards out on a cross from Callie Allen.

No. 1 McDonogh 7, Severn 0: Anna Bialczak scored twice to lead the visiting Eagles (6-1, 3-0) Interscholastic Athletic Assocation of Maryland A Conference) past the Admirals (3-5).

Kayla Clark added a goal and two assists for McDonogh, which led 5-0 at the break.

Field hockey

No. 9 Hereford 6, Franklin 0: Rachel Karwacki had three goals and Catherine Beazley finished with two assists to lead the host Bulls (4-3-1) past the Indians (1-7).

Hereford next hosts No. 1 C. Milton Wright on Monday at 6:30 p.m.


No. 2 Severna Park d. North County, 3-0: The visiting Falcons (5-0) collected 41 aces to beat the Knights (2-3).

Morgan Kline went 16-for-16 from the service line with eight aces, and Shannon Fletcher was 13-for-13 with seven aces. Severna Park won, 25-3, 25-3, 25-8.

No. 4 Glenelg d. Atholton, 3-0: Morgan Perry had 14 kills and 11 digs as the host Gladiators (4-1) beat the Raiders (0-6).

Glenelg won, 25-23, 25-14, 25-16.

No. 6 Broadneck d. Meade, 3-0: Katie Byrne had six aces and Clara Brechtel had six kills to lead the host Bruins (5-1) past the Mustangs (2-4).

Broadneck won, 25-18, 25-6, 25-11.

No. 7 Howard d. Wilde Lake, 3-1: Sydney Biniak had 20 kills to power the host Lions (5-1) past the Wildcats (3-3).

Howard won, 27-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-19.
