With IronBirds making playoffs, 'Streak Thru Aberdeen' 7K postponed until Sept. 13

Since the Aberdeen IronBirds clinched a berth in the New York-Penn League playoffs for the first time in team history, the inaugural "Streak Thru Aberdeen" seven-kilometer run has been rescheduled for Sept. 13 at 6 p.m., the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation announced Wednesday.

The event, originally scheduled for Sept. 6, will start at Cal Sr.'s Yard, located across the street from Ripken Stadium, with race day registration (and packet pick-up) beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Regular registrations are still available at $40 for adults and $15 for youth (10 and under). Race packets for preregistered participants are scheduled for pickup on Sept. 12 (noon – 6 p.m.) at the Charm City Run store in Bel Air.

Proceeds from the 7K will support Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation programs, which help build character and teach critical life lessons to underserved youth residing in America’s most distressed communities through sports-themed programming.
