Meghan Anderson
Hereford, junior
An important piece of a very deep Bulls team this season, Anderson placed second in the Baltimore County championship and won the Class 3A North regional meet last year.
Erin Causey
Hereford, senior
Causey finished fourth in the Baltimore County title meet and later placed fourth again in the Class 3A state championship race. With Causey and Anderson among the best in the area, Hereford will be tough to beat.
Ellie Gonzalez
Catholic, senior
Simply put, the returning All-Metro Runner of the Year has dominated the area’s running scene in the past two years. Gonzalez seeks to win her third consecutive IAAM championship this fall.
Isabel Griffith
Dulaney, senior
After winning the Baltimore County title last fall, Griffith placed fourth in the Class 4A state championship meet. She’s been one of the area’s most consistent distance runners in the past few years.
Allison Krein
River Hill, junior
With her second-place finish in the Class 3A state title meet, Krein earned All-Metro first-team honors last fall. She’s one of several young Howard County runners who should step up this season.
Brit Lang
Oakland Mills, sophomore
Lang, who won the Class 2A state title as a freshman, has battled quad pain this summer. She recently received clearance to run again, and coaches hope she’ll be back to 100 percent by the end of the season.
Shreya Nalubola
Centennial, junior
Before Lang won the 2A state title last year, Nalubola beat her to win the Howard County championship. The Eagles standout placed third in the Class 3A state meet and should lead a very tough Centennial squad this season.
Julia Nardone
Glenelg, junior
After finishing 12th in the Class 2A cross country state championship meet last fall, Nardone improved dramatically with two state championships in indoor track (1,600 meters and 3,200 meters) and one outdoors (3,200).
Sarah Rinehart
Liberty, junior
Rinehart continues to improve each year, whether it’s in cross country or track. Last fall, she placed second in the Carroll County title meet and later added a ninth-place finish in the Class 2A state championship race.
Sarah Sykora
Annapolis, senior
Sykora won the Anne Arundel County championship last fall before finishing 14th in the Class 3A state title meet — tied for the highest spot for an Anne Arundel County runner. Her times were identical in both events (20:26.8).
