McGill, 6-3 and 295 pounds, chose the Terrapins over Old Dominion, Cincinnati and East Carolina.
The Virginian-Pilot rated McGill the No. 3 prospect in South Hampton Roads because of his athleticism and explosiveness off the ball. He had offers from more than 12 schools.
He finished his Gilman career with perhaps his best performance, rushing for 234 yards on 26 carries in the game.
