Instant Analysis: Ravens stake claim to AFC North with win over Steelers

How The Sun’s reporters, columnists and editors saw the Ravens’ 13-10 victory over the Steelers:

Peter Schmuck, columnist: This is certainly one of those times when it was better to be lucky than good. Byron Leftwich injured himself on his touchdown run in the first minute of the game and was never quite right, which was fortunate since the Ravens offense wasn't quite right either.

Matt Vensel, blogger/reporter: Holy smokes, the Ravens have won back-to-back road games for the first time since 2010. And they did it with defense and special teams. It will take a major collapse for the Ravens to not win the AFC North after this one.

Ron Fritz, sports editor: Did you expect any other kind of game? This was classic Steelers-Ravens football and the biggest play of the game, Jacoby Jones’ 63-yard punt return, went the Ravens’ way. It might go the Steelers’ way in two weeks, but without Ben Roethlisberger, and with the Ravens at home, it’s not likely. This win cemented the AFC North for the Ravens.
