Weekly Maryland recruiting roundup

After a summer with Team Takeover's 16-and-under squad, Potomac shooting guard Dion Wiley has emerged this fall as one of the East Coast's most coveted prospects.

NBE Basketball Report recently caught up with Wiley, a four-star recruit and a top Maryland target for 2014.

“My offers are, Maryland, Georgetown, Rutgers, Miami, Cincinnati, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Villanova” and another school he couldn’t recall, at that moment. It’s understandable, as Wiley was going through literally a bucket full of mail from schools throughout the country, while talking; schools are putting the press on him, so to speak. Presently, there is no leader for his services, and a decision is “a long way away.”

** DeMatha center BeeJay Anya, a former Terps target, plans to announce his college decision Nov. 16, according to Adam Zagoria.

Anya told Monday that he was down to N.C. State and Indiana, and said he has no plans to take any additional visits at this time.

Since then sources confirmed to that Indiana is no longer involved in his recruitment, which would potentially leave N.C. State as his top option.

** Four-star center Dominic Woodson, a former UM target, has committed to Baylor.

Choosing Baylor will allow Woodson to return close to his Round Rock home where he attended school through 10th grade before playing in Vermont last year. The early signing date is Nov. 14.

** Terps women's commitment Shatori Walker-Kimbrough helped her Hopewell High volleyball squad to a win in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League semifinals

Seniors Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (17 kills, 10 blocks) and Sydney Belcastro (25 digs, 3 aces) led the way for Hopewell (20-1).
