Friday’s editions included a Q&A with Towson junior attackman Matt Hughes. Due to space constraints, here are some answers that didn’t make the cut.
Did you play another sport when you were growing up?
Yeah, I played ice hockey.
Why did you choose lacrosse over ice hockey?
I think I could say that I was probably a better ice hockey player, but I just felt like lacrosse was more of my type of thing. Just the tradition of the game, the style of the game. I think it was more fun to play. I just made a decision and stuck with it.
Did you have a favorite ice hockey player?
When I was real young, it was [former Philadelphia Flyers left winger] John LeClair, but I didn’t really model my play after him. I actually liked [center] Mike Richards of the Flyers. He was a younger guy, and growing up, he was one of my favorite players until he got traded [to the Los Angeles Kings in June]. He was the player I modeled my game after.
What is your favorite movie?
That’s a tough one. I’m going to have to say “Miracle.” The storyline and the way they directed it. It kind of gets you a little hyped up and kind of shows you what you need to go through to be a successful team. I liked it a lot.
Favorite song to listen to before a game?
I have a couple. I like to listen to “Hometown” by Big Sean. Anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Who is your celebrity crush?
I would say Jennifer Aniston. She’s stunning.
