Eleven players from Maryland colleges have been named to the 2012 Tewaaration Watch List, including 2011 finalist Katie Schwarzmann, from Maryland. The list also includes 2012 winner Shannon Smith from defending Division I national champ Northwestern.
Maryland’s Brittany Dipper, Karri Ellen Johnson and Iliana Sanza; Loyola’s Ana Heneberry, Marlee Paton and Kerry Stoothoff; Johns Hopkins’ Taylor D’Amore and Alyssa Kildare; Towson's Alexa Demski; and Navy’s Jasmine DePompeo also made the list announced Wednesday.
Players may be added to during the season, but in April it will be narrowed to 25. In May, five finalists will be announced. The winner will be named on May 31 at the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of the American Indian inWashington, D.C.
The list includes two former All-Metro Players of the Year, Schwarzmann, a Century graduate, and Vanderbilt’s Ally Carey, a John Carroll graduate.
