Zinkand named coach at Calvert Hall
Calvert Hall has named Rich Zinkand, a 1987 graduate and a member of the school's English department, as its new varsity soccer coach. Zinkand, who played collegiately at Towson State, has been the men's soccer coach at CCBC-Essex for the past 10 years and replaces retired coach Andy Moore. This fall, Zinkand led the Knights to a 12-3-2 record. Moore had been with the Calvert Hall program for 20 years, the past 14 as head coach, before stepping down at the end of the season to spend more time with his family. As head coach, he finished his career with a 165-92-26 record and led the Cardinals to Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championships in 2002 and 2003. In 2002, the team went 18-0 in league play to become the first team in MIAA history to complete a perfect conference season. Moore continues to teach at Calvert Hall.
