National Prep Wrestling has released its first team ranking poll of the season, and McDonogh opens at No. 3.
The Eagles, our top-ranked team locally, have yet to wrestle a dual meet, but they won the Ray Oliver Tournament two weeks ago, placed three wrestlers at the Ironman Tournament in Ohio, and placed sixth at the St. Christopher's Tournament in Richmond, Va..
Only Blair Academy (N.J.), which has won 29-straight national titles, and Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) are ranked ahead of McDonogh.
St. Paul’s is No. 5, and Archbishop Spalding checks in at No. 14.
