McDonogh's Spivey, Mercy's Prior-Brown named to All-America Team

McDonogh senior midfielder Ashley Spivey and Mercy senior forward Alexis Prior-Brown were named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Girls High School All-America Team.

Spivey is a three-time recipient while Prior-Brown earns All-America recognition for the first time.

This year, Spivey closed out a stellar four-year career with 19 goals and 14 assists to lead the No. 1 Eagles (18-3) to their second straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championship.  She finished her career with 85 goals and 57 assists.

Prior-Brown scored 23 goals and added 11 assists to finish her career at Mercy with 53 goals and 25 assists.

Both players are set to play at Maryland.

Spivey and Prior-Brown will join 79 other student-athletes who are invited to be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.
