Aquille Carr
Patterson, guard, junior
Last year's All-Metro Player of the Year showed as much substance as flash in leading the Clippers to the Class 4A state title game. He averaged 32points — most coming off highlight-reel moves to the basket — and added six assists, five rebounds and 4.3 steals per game. This year, he's determined to bring the state championship to Patterson.
Daquan Cook
St. Frances, guard, senior
After averaging 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Class 2A state champion Digital Harbor last season, the All-Metro second-team point guard returns to St. Frances, where he began his varsity career. Cook brings a complete game, and the Panthers will rely on his big-game experience and smart decisions at the point.
Jarred Jones
John Carroll, forward, senior
One of the area's most complete players, the 6-foot-7 Jones does it all, scoring from anywhere on the court, setting up teammates and defending all five positions. The All-Metro second-team selection averaged 14.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8steals and 1.7 assists to help John Carroll sweep the MIAA AConference and BCL championships last season.
Myrek Lee-Fowlkes
Patterson, forward, junior
The All-Metro second-team selection contributes in many ways on both ends of the floor. He has 3-point range, is a relentless defender on the wing and is a tough, physical rebounder. In helping the Clippers reach the Class 4A state title game last season, Lee-Fowlkes averaged 15.7 points and 9.6rebounds.
Kayel Locke
McDonogh, forward, senior
Strong, physical and agile at 6-5 and 255 pounds, Locke is a matchup nightmare for opponents with his dominating inside play and improving perimeter game. A four-year starter and All-Metro second-team selection, he averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles last season and goes into his senior season with 1,260 career points.
Antonio Manns
Oakland Mills, forward, senior
Instrumental in Digital Harbor's Class 2A state championship state last year with his consistent scoring and rebounding, the 6-5 All-Metro second-team pick becomes the go-to player for the Scorpions. Manns, who averaged 16 points and 10rebounds last season, finishes well around the basket and is able to score in transition and in the half court.
Isaiah Miles
Milford Mill, forward, senior
With a versatile inside-outside game, the 6-8 Glenelg Country transfer brings a dominating presence to the frontcourt as the Millers bid for a third straight Class 3A championship. In leading the Dragons to the MIAA B Conference championship last season, Miles averaged 18.8 points, 13.4rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game to earn All-Metro first-team honors.
Dwayne Morgan
City, forward, sophomore
The sleek, 6-7 Morgan bursts onto the scene after an eye-catching offseason in which he stood out in the Elite 75 Showcase and received an invitation to USA Basketball's under-17 developmental camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. Morgan, entering his first varsity season, can score off the dribble or from the perimeter and is a relentless defender.
Warren Powers
Glenelg Country, forward, junior
The 6-6 Powers, who averaged 16 points and 6.8rebounds for the MIAA B champions last season, is a force at both ends with his size, athleticism and versatile skills. With Isaiah Miles off to Milford Mill and the Dragons now competing in the A Conference, Powers becomes the team's leader and go-to player.
Kameron Williams
Mount St. Joseph, guard, junior
The All-Metro second-team selection averaged 17points, four rebounds and two assists in his breakthrough sophomore season, showing a knack for taking over games with fine perimeter play. Aware that he will no longer sneak up on opponents, the 6-2 Williams worked hard in the offseason to improve other facets of his game.
