Nichols named coach of new Bohemians

The Baltimore Bohemians, a new member of the United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development League, has named McDonogh boys coach Steve Nichols as their head coach. A Baltimore native, Nichols led McDonogh to its seventh Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship this fall and has coached the Baltimore Bays club team to nine national youth championships. The PDL, which features 65 teams competing in four conferences and nine divisions, is the top-level amateur men's soccer league in North America. The Bohemians, owned by Louis Angelos, will play their inaugural season at Cedar Lane Park in Bel Air with a 16-game schedule from May to August. "It's a phenomenal opportunity and a great chance to help the area further grow in soccer," Nichols said. "Our player pool in the area is phenomenal, and we'll put a great product on the field." Nichols added that he will continue to coach at McDonogh and with the Bays.
