Ex-pitcher Milton added to coaching staff

Maryland baseball

Former All-Star pitcher Eric Milton has joined the Maryland baseball team's coaching staff, coach Erik Bakich announced Thursday. Milton, a left-handed pitcher who played for the Terrapins from 1994 to 1996, won 89 games in his 11-year major league career with the Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers. "Eric is just a tremendous resource of baseball knowledge," Bakich said. "He loves the game, and for our players to have somebody who has been in their shoes, gone to the same school, been through the same classes and done the same things, he is where they all want to be."
