A shutdown corner for the defending MIAA A Conference champs, the 5-foot-10, 172-pound Davis, who has committed to West Virginia, had 19unassisted tackles last season and two interceptions.
Kenneth Goins
Gilman, defensive end, senior
The 6-foot, 210-pound All-Metro end has a nose for getting the quarterback, recording 18 sacks last season. He also had 23 tackles for a loss, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Allen Jackson
McDonogh, defensive end, senior
Headed for Duke, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Jackson had 87 tackles and nine sacks last season. He and fellow end Roman Braglio will be key to the Eagles contending in the A Conference.
Rafael Kess
Old Mill, linebacker, senior
A big middle linebacker at 6-foot, 220pounds, Kess is a powerful force against opposing ball carriers and quarterbacks. Last season, he had 60tackles — 42 of them solo — and six sacks.
Josh McPhearson
Annapolis Area Christian, defensive back, senior
A transfer from Riverdale Baptist, McPhearson will play on both sides of the ball. As a defensive back, he has the recovery speed, quick feet and athleticism to make an impact.
Dan Mullen
South Carroll, defensive back, senior
One of the keys to the Cavaliers' 11-1 season, Mullen does a little bit of everything. At strong safety, he had 67 tackles and three interceptions. He had a combined 15 touchdowns rushing and receiving.
Devon Porchia
Gilman, linebacker, senior
Tough against the run and the pass, Porchia, who has committed to Pittsburgh, had 55 tackles, two forced fumbles, three sacks and two interceptions last season. He ran one of those interceptions back for a touchdown.
Donovan Riley
Poly, defensive back, senior
Headed for Virginia Tech, the 6-foot, 194-pound All-Metro second-team selection had 46 tackles and six interceptions last season and will be a critical player in a tough Engineers defense.
Charles Tapper
City, defensive end, senior
In his first year of football, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound converted basketball player turned heads last fall with the Knights and in summer 7-on-7, earning an offer from Oklahoma that he accepted.
