What silver linings did you find in Thursday's preseason loss?

Forgive me for being in a positive mood, but it’s Friday morning, NFL football is back and there were some bright spots in the Ravens’ preseason loss to the Eagles last night. Also, did I mention it’s Friday morning?

Sure, the sloppy 13-6 loss was a little unsettling. Tyrod Taylor was running for his life. Torrey Smith and company had an uneven performance. And the Ravens tackled as if the Eagles were covered in K-Y Jelly.

But as I wrote after the loss, it was the first preseason game after a long lockout and, as expected, the Ravens were often out of sync as they tried to push young players into prominent roles. The Ravens need veteran reinforcements at wide receiver, backup quarterback and on the offensive line, but there is no reason to panic just yet. General manager Ozzie Newsome has a month to finalize his best 53-man roster.

And it’s not like there weren’t positives. Taylor flashed potential and showed off his athleticism. Sergio Kindle and Paul Kruger were around the football often, as was Pernell McPhee. Tight end Dennis Pitta and rookie receivers LaQuan Williams and Tandon Doss made some plays. And most importantly, the Ravens left Philly in good health (unless you count all those broken ankles on missed tackles).

I know many of you are frustrated, and I don’t fault you for that, but check your negativity at the door if you respond to today’s question. It’s a sunny Friday morning, the NFL is back and I’m feeling good.

Your turn: What silver linings did you find in the loss to the Eagles?
