Bowie site being considered for new training facility

The Maryland Stadium Authority approved funding Tuesday for a study that will examine the possibility of the Washington Redskins' leaving their training facility in Ashburn, Va., for one in Bowie. The proposed site is land owned by Prince George's County off Route 197 and Lemons Bridge Road; the location is near the Bowie State MARC station, about 10 miles from FedEx Field in Landover. In the original agreement that brought the Redskins and FedEx Field to Prince George's County, a provision was included to give the county the right of first refusal should the franchise decide to relocate its headquarters from Loudoun County. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder told The Washington Post in February that team officials are considering a move.

Kindle says he's been cleared by doctors for contact

Linebacker Sergio Kindle, the Ravens' top draft pick in 2010 who missed last season after fracturing his skull by falling downstairs, said last weekend that doctors cleared him for contact in March. "I'm [100 percent] now. I've been [lifting weights] since I got to Baltimore. Now I'm actually training, football training, without the contact. Now I just have to wait and see whatever the lockout does so I can give it a shot" Kindle told the San Antonio Express-News at a youth camp. "I had a skull fracture and some brain bruising. Basically, I messed up my equilibrium. I can hardly hear out of [my left] ear anymore. The doctor said it was unlikely it will come back. But it's been a while, so I've gotten used to it."
