Roundup: Clark pitches No. 2 Spalding past No. 1 Calvert Hall

Right-hander Austin Clark (6-1) had a no-hitter through six innings Wednesday, and despite giving up a home run to Calvert Hall's Kevin Baron in the seventh, Clark led No. 2 Archbishop Spalding to an upset of the top-ranked host Cardinals, 7-1, in the MIAA A Conference winners bracket championship game.

Spalding scored four runs in the third inning to win.

Clark gave up one run on four hits, and struck out two. Austin Neary (2-for-3) had two doubles for the Cavaliers (21-4). Spalding awaits the winner of the loser's bracket in Sunday's championship at Ripken Stadium. Calvert Hall (24-8) fell into the losers bracket but could still meet the Cavaliers again Sunday.

No. 10 C. Milton Wright 11, Franklin 6: Left-hander Nick Stallings (7-2) struck out 10 and gave up three earned runs, and Col Hancock (2-for-4) had a homer and two RBIs to lead the host Mustangs (17-4) past the Indians in a Class 3A North regional semifinal.

No. 12 Marriotts Ridge 12, Howard 8: Pat Serio scored five goals to power the host Mustangs (15-2) past the Lions (12-5) in the Class 3A-2A South regional final.
