Monday's Class 3A-2A West boys lacrosse regional semifinal between Fallston and host Bel Air was suspended in the fourth quarter because of lightning.
The game will be resumed Tuesday — likely at 3:30 p.m. — with the visiting and No. 9 Cougars leading 10-8 with 7:11 to play. To confirm the time of the game, contact either school's athletic department.
After the No. 15 Bobcats scored five unanswered goals to take an 8-3 lead with 8:04 remaining in the third quarter, Fallston responded with seven straight — the last four by senior attackman Brian White in a four-minute stretch — to claim a 10-8 lead with 8:33 to play. A little more than one minute later, the first sight of lightning halted play and periodic lightning suspended play.
The winner will travel to three-time defending state champion Hereford in Wednesday's regional title game.
Bel Air jumped out to an 8-3 advantage, with Jay Butler accounting for three goals and goalie Ben Richards making nine saves in the first half.
