North Harford's Donohoe sets UNC career goals record
Corey Donohoe (North Harford) scored three goals to become No. 5 North Carolina's career goals leader as the Tar Heels (9-2, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) won, 14-8, at Virginia Tech (8-5, 1-2) on Friday. Donohoe entered the game with 169 career goals, tied with Kellie Thompson (1999-2002) for most in Tar Heels history. She set the mark with a goal 1:28 into the game. Her 38 points this season (32 goals and six assists) give her 219 career points, second in school history behind Thompson's total of 222 (169 goals, 53 assists).
State women: Grace Gavin (St. Paul's School for Girls) scored 82 seconds into the game giving her a goal in 50 straight games as No. 4 Loyola (9-0, 1-0 Big East) won, 17-3, over host Cincinnati (2-8, 0-2). Grace and Abby Rehfuss each finished with four goals. Loyola scored 10 straight goals in the first half to take a 12-1 lead at the break. … Nicole Price (North Harford) had two goals and three assists during an eight-goal second half as host Mount St. Mary's (4-7, 3-0 Northeast Conference) won, 10-6, over Long Island (0-9, 0-2).
State men: Host No. 11 Stony Brook (5-3, 1-0 America East) held UMBC (2-5, 0-1) scoreless through the first three quarters and won, 16-5. Ryan Johnston scored twice for the Retrievers.

Students to meet O's greats, tour Sports Legends Museum
City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young will welcome about 170 public and private school students and coaches to Sports Legends Museum today from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to officially mark the beginning of the inaugural citywide President's Cup baseball tournament. The students and coaches will tour the museum's 10 exhibits, which include galleries dedicated to the Orioles, Ravens, Colts, amateur baseball, the Negro Leagues and former Baltimore Colts great and NFL Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas. Students and coaches will learn about the history of the Orioles from three members of the team's Hall of Fame: Paul Blair, Al Bumbry and "Tippy" Martinez. Former Negro Leagues player Eddie Banks will also be on hand to speak to the players and coaches. Students from the following schools will attend today's event: Boys' Latin, Frederick Douglass, Friends, Gilman, Maritime Industries Academy, Mergenthaler Vocational, Mount St. Joseph, Dunbar, National Academy Foundation, Northwestern and St. Frances. President's Cup play will begin next Saturday and continue through April 16, when the championship game will be held at Camden Yards.

Phelps, Hoff to compete in Michigan Grand Prix
A talented field featuring Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps of Fells Point, Natalie Coughlin, Ryan Lochte and Jason Lezak, as well as U.S. national team member Katie Hoff of Towson, will compete in the Eric Namesnik Michigan Grand Prix from Friday to April 10 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The meet is the fifth stop of the seven-meet USA Swimming Grand Prix Series and will take place at the Canham Natatorium on the campus of the University of Michigan. The field will feature more than 25 members of the national team, including Cullen Jones, Dana Vollmer and Kate Ziegler. Swimmers are awarded five points for a gold medal, three points for a silver medal and one point for a bronze medal. The top-scoring swimmer at the conclusion of the series will be awarded $20,000. National teamer Missy Franklin leads the Grand Prix standings and is followed closely by Tunisia's Ous Mellouli and then Lochte. The competition will be broadcast and webcast live on Universal Sports next Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on April 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A live webcast of both preliminaries and finals from the meet will be available throughout the weekend on usaswimming.org/michigangrandprix.

Ex-Calvert Hall standout wing Lee commits to Drexel
Former Calvert Hall basketball star Damion Lee committed to Drexel on Friday. The 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing chose the Dragons over offers from East Carolina, La Salle, Loyola Marymount, Northeastern, TCU, Tulane and Valparaiso. Lee, who graduated from Calvert Hall in 2010, is spending a postgraduate year at St. Thomas More in Connecticut. He guided the Chancellors to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council championship last month, earning first-team All-Conference honors. "I'm happy with my decision and I'm glad that I can have some stress relieved from my shoulders," Lee said.
Ravens: Team cheerleaders and mascot Poe will join more than 300 Waverly Elementary/Middle School students Tuesday for a pep rally to encourage youths taking part in the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award challenge. Waverly Elementary/Middle School is a Playworks Baltimore City partner school. Launched in 2005, the nonprofit provides and promotes safe and inclusive play by placing caring adult coaches in urban, low-income elementary schools to teach games, sports and conflict resolution skills to students. As part of the program, which operates in 26 Baltimore City schools, one girl and one boy will be invited to the Ravens' 2011 Play 60 game, where they will be recognized on the field before kickoff. The Ravens will also award a financial grant to the physical education department of the Playworks Baltimore City partner school with the highest overall participation.
Wizards: Guard John Wall was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March, becoming the first player in franchise history to win the honor in three straight months.
Division III football: Johns Hopkins released its 2011 schedule, which will begin with a 2 p.m. game at the Merchant Marine Academy Sept 3. The Blue Jays will open their home schedule the following Saturday against Susquehanna at 2 p.m. Johns Hopkins also will visit Moravian, Juniata and Gettysburg, and host Muhlenberg, Dickinson, Juniata and Franklin & Marshall before concluding the season at McDaniel on Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
