Hat tricks help Hopkins women rally past Drexel, 10-7
Taylor D'Amore and Colleen McCaffrey each had a hat trick as No. 18 Johns Hopkins (7-3) rallied from a one-goal deficit at halftime to earn a 10-7 victory at Drexel (6-3) on Wednesday.
Division III women: Malory Brunett (River Hill) had four goals and Ali Kapustin (Marriotts Ridge) had three to power host Frostburg State (4-7, 3-2 Capital Athletic Conference) to a 15-4 win over Wesley (5-7, 1-5). … Corinne Ziccardi (Loch Raven) scored twice, but visiting Washington College (7-2, 1-2 Centennial Conference) fell, 12-5, to Ursinus (5-4, 3-0). … Allison Terry (Catholic) had four goals and Ashley Cumberland (Kenwood) added three, but host College of Notre Dame (2-7) fell, 22-10, to Randolph-Macon (4-4).
Division III men: Tony Mendes had six points (four goals, two assists) for a second consecutive game as visiting Salisbury (10-0, 3-0 CAC) rolled to a 25-1 win against Hood (4-5, 1-3). Corey Roberts (Fallston) scored the Blazers' goal with 5:49 left in the first quarter. … Neal Barthelme scored seven goals to power host Stevenson (10-1, 3-0 CAC) to a 21-2 victory over Wesley (4-7, 1-3). … Visiting York (7-2, 3-0 CAC) held St. Mary's (2-5, 1-1) to one goal per quarter and won 7-4. Dennis Rosson (Severn) scored twice for the Seahawks.

Harclerode rallies Towson; Terps edge George Mason
Austin Harclerode (Centennial) lined a game-winning single to center field with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap a three-run rally as Towson (8-14-1) earned a 10-9 victory over UMBC (3-14).
Elsewhere: Korey Wacker went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and moved from center field to the mound to pitch the final two innings and earn a save as Maryland (12-13) earned a 3-2 victory over visiting George Mason (10-15-1). Sander Beck (1-3) was credited with the win after pitching four scoreless innings of relief. … Run-scoring hits by Andrew Caron and Kyle Kane helped Mount St. Mary's (9-12) score three times in the bottom of the seventh and rally for a 5-4 win over visiting Navy (14-11-1) in a game that was called in the top of the eighth because of snow and rain. … Mike Garza had four hits and drove in six runs and Georgetown (17-9) defeated host Coppin State, 19-7. Jesse Savage had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Eagles.

Johns Hopkins' Suter to play for USA D3 Soccer All-Stars
Johns Hopkins junior Erica Suter (River Hill) was one of 15 players selected to participate in the USA D3 Soccer All-Star Team tour of Brazil from May 17-26. The team will compete against top under-22 club teams from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero.
Softball: Maryland sophomore Lexi Carroll, who drove in eight runs and scored four times in two wins at Virginia, was named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week. … Stacey Burgos and Charma Robinson each homered in support of the one-hit pitching of Paige Arnold as Coppin State earned a 3-1 victory over visiting Mount St. Mary's.
Rowing: Virginia's Second Varsity 8+ boat, which includes Morgan Joseph (Centennial), was named the ACC Crew of the Week.
Men's tennis: Johns Hopkins junior Jacob Barnaby was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week.
Women's tennis: Johns Hopkins sophomore Nandita Krishnan was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week.

Pimlico to open Friday; Fenwick back at Aintree
The Pimlico Race Course spring meet will begin Friday and conclude with the Preakness. Admission on Opening Day is free. The nine-race card will begin at 1:10.p.m. Pimlico has added a second Pick 4 and scrapped the Pick 6 in favor of a Pick 5 (races 5-9), with a reduced takeout of 18 percent.
Steeplechase: Charles Fenwick Jr., one of only two American riders to win the English Grand National steeplechase, will return to Aintree on April 9 to compete in a race of legends for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust. The race will be conducted at 1 mile, 5 furlongs over the flat as the opener on the Grand National card. Fenwick won the demanding Grand National, which began in 1839, in 1980 aboard Ben Nevis.

Baseball roundtable set for Legends Museum on April 8
The Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards will host a baseball roundtable discussion April 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The panel will consist of Jeff Zrebiec (Baltimore Sun), Roch Kubatko (MASNSports.com), Scott Garceau (105.7 the Fan), Brett Hollander (WBAL Radio), Rob Long (Fox 1370 Sports), Keith Mills (WBAL/98Rock) and Jennifer Royle (105.7). The left-hander had Tommy John elbow reconstruction in December. … Nationals manager Jim Riggleman said new first baseman Adam LaRoche is OK to play in today's opener after receiving a cortisone shot over the weekend for a small labral tear in his left shoulder. … The New York Mets announced that former Orioles infielder Luis Hernandez has cleared waivers.
Varsity: Severna Park junior Joe Kotler was named ESPN Rise's East Player of the Week. He earned two victories, giving up no runs and striking out 12 in nine innings. At the plate, Kotler had five hits and six runs scored.
Pro soccer: D.C. United Women, a new team formed in a partnership of D.C. United and the Northern Virginia Majestics, will compete in the Northeast Division of the United Soccer Leagues W-League and play home games at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds. The season will begin May 25 at the New Jersey Wildcats; the first home match will be June 9 against the Wildcats.
NBA: Washington Wizards rookie forward Trevor Booker is lost for the rest of the season with a fractured sesamoid bone in his right foot. The injury will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
NHL: Washington Capitals defenseman Dennis Wideman is questionable for tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets because of a lower-body injury, The Washington Post reported.
