Scouting report: Chicago Riot at Blast

Chicago Riot (2-7) at Blast (8-3)

Time: Saturday, 7:35 p.m.

Site: 1st Mariner Arena

Online: B2TV.com

Outlook: After losing three of its past four games, the Blast enjoyed a productive past weekend, notching two wins to reclaim a share of first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League with the Milwaukee Wave.  The home team should keep rolling against the last-place Riot, the league's lowest-scoring team. Added incentive is the fact that one of the Riot's two wins came against the Blast on Jan. 16 — a 14-12 victory in Chicago that evened the season series at one win each. On Jan. 21, the Blast played smothering defense in an impressive 14-6 home win over the Wave. On Saturday, it took a 9-0 lead at Missouri and held off a fourth-quarter rally by the Comets to come away with a 15-13 win that featured goals from seven players. Pat Healey leads the Blast's balanced offense with 33 points (tied for fourth in the MISL), while goalie Sagu has a league-best 8.90 points-against average. The Riot averages just under nine points and has only Bato Radoncic (17 points) among the league's top 25 scorers.
